Calvin Taylor

Calvin Taylor and Sherry Taylor are breeders of Shire horses in Gillette, WY, Campbell County and the Powder River Basin near Casper. They have been raising draft horses for more than ten years and maintain American Shire Horse Association membership, with routine veterinary checkups to meet breed health guidelines. Their horses live in open pastures with access to sheltered barns and are introduced to halter training and gentle handling from a young age. Each foal spends time in small herds to develop strong social skills.

On their ranch, the Taylors balance traditional draft horse care with modern nutrition plans, ensuring muscle development and sound hoof growth. They work with a local farrier for regular hoof trims and schedule routine dental evaluations to support overall well-being. Several of their horses have placed in local pulling competitions and county fairs, reflecting the breeders’ dedication to sound conformation and temperament.
