C & W Farms

C & W Farms raises Hereford cattle in Columbia, KY, Adair County and the Pennyroyal Plateau near Lexington. Founded more than a decade ago, it holds membership in the American Hereford Association and follows established health screenings for bovine respiratory disease and fertility. The cattle graze on rotational pastures, receive daily handling to encourage docility, and calving takes place in sheltered paddocks under close observation.

Several bulls have earned performance test top ratings, and the farm maintains a small herd of foundation cows selected for maternal traits. Calves are introduced to low-stress weaning protocols and group housing to support healthy social bonds. Selective breeding emphasizes calving ease and efficient feed conversion to suit both beginners and seasoned ranchers. Records of each animal’s performance are meticulously tracked and shared with buyers to support informed breeding decisions.
