Buttercuprags raises ragdoll cats in Fairview, New Jersey, just across the Hudson from Manhattan. Run by Jessica Magdalena, the cattery holds registrations with both TICA and CFA and has been raising kittens since 2017.

The program focuses exclusively on traditional, purebred ragdolls — colorpointed cats with blue eyes — and does not produce mink, sepia, or solid-colored variations. All breeding cats are tested negative for HCM, PKD, FIV, and FeLV before entering the program. The cattery is cageless and home-based, meaning kittens grow up underfoot alongside children and other cats, receiving daily handling, enrichment, and both dry and homemade wet food throughout their development.

Buttercuprags has participated in competitive cat shows across the Mid-Atlantic region, earning multiple titles and the distinction of Mid-Atlantic Best Ragdoll Cat of the Year in 2020.
