Btp's Golden Retrievers

Btp's Golden Retrievers, Golden retrievers, Bakersfield, CA, is a small family kennel in Kern County and the Central Valley near Fresno. Owner Richard Ellis registers litters with the American Kennel Club and screens adult dogs for hip and elbow dysplasia through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Adult dogs live on-site with the family and are evaluated for temperament before joining the breeding program. Puppies are born and raised underfoot in the main living area to encourage early social bonds and adaptation to household life.

Pups enjoy daily supervised play in a secure yard and regular handling by visitors of all ages. Each puppy leaves with a detailed health record, a starter care guide, and ongoing support as they transition to a new home. Many of their breeding dogs hold titles in field trial work and basic obedience, and several graduates have gone on to work as therapy companions. Litter sizes are kept small to ensure personalized care from whelping through placement.
