Bret Hanson

Bret Hanson breeds Hereford cattle in Faith, SD, Meade County and western South Dakota near Rapid City. He has been raising Hereford cattle for more than a decade, is a registered member of the American Hereford Association and follows established health testing protocols.

Animals roam open pasture along gently rolling hills in small family-style herds and receive daily handling to encourage calm temperaments and ease of management. Calving takes place in spacious, ventilated barns that are cleaned regularly to provide a comfortable start for newborn calves. During winter months cattle access hay from enclosed shelters, balanced supplements and freshwater springs dotting the ranch. Bret pays special attention to forage management and rotational grazing to preserve soil health and promote sustainable practices.
