Breckynridge Farms

Breckynridge Farms is a breeder of Shire horses in Pleasant Lake, MI, Hillsdale County and southeast Michigan near Ann Arbor. With more than a decade of breeding experience, owner Lisa Gee Cram maintains memberships in national equine associations and follows recommended health testing for Shire lines.

Horses live in spacious pastures and receive daily turnout, individual handling from foalhood and regular farrier and veterinary care. The farm’s barn and paddock system dates back three generations, offering a tranquil setting that reflects long-standing local traditions.

Shire foals are raised with a focus on sound temperament and steady conformation, traits that reflect the breed’s gentle strength and draft heritage. Groundwork emphasizes gentle reinforcement and gradual introduction to harness, preparing horses for light driving or farm labor according to each owner’s goals.
