Borcherding Farms

Borcherding Farms raises Hereford cattle in Iuka, Illinois in southern Illinois near Carbondale. Over the past thirty years the family-run farm has been active in the American Hereford Association and conducts regular genetic and thorough health screenings on each animal.

Calves are introduced to daily handling and pasture rotations early on, which promotes even temperaments and strong muscle development. The herd grazes on mixed-grass paddocks enriched with mineral blocks, reflecting a grass-based program grounded in animal welfare. Several cattle from recent calves have earned placings at thriving southern Illinois county fairs, showcasing the farm’s attention to breeding sound structure and disposition.
