Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain, a breeder of pygmy goats in Wellsburg, West Virginia, is a family-operated farm in Brooke County and the Northern Panhandle near Wheeling. Katie Mcadoo has managed the farm for more than a decade and maintains membership in the American Goat Society to uphold breed standards.

All breeding stock receives annual health screening for caprine arthritis encephalitis and caseous lymphadenitis, and does and kids are handled daily to ensure calm, friendly temperaments. Goats graze on rotational pastures and enjoy shelter in climate-controlled barns with sturdy fencing and access to fresh water year-round. The herd features several champion lines noted for consistent conformation and gentle nature.

Feeding protocols include forage supplemented with mineral blocks and probiotic support to promote digestive well-being. Detailed pedigrees and transparent record-keeping help ensure each goat’s history is clear and traceable. Early-life health protocols include colostrum monitoring and routine weight checks through weaning.
