Black Mountain Pack Llamas raises ccara (classic) llamas in Ramona, California, on the edge of the Cleveland National Forest in San Diego County, roughly 40 miles northeast of the city.

Doug and Michelle Bearmar have been breeding and training llamas on their family farm since 2010, building a program rooted in hands-on backcountry experience. Their start came through an unexpected rescue — a group of abandoned llamas found in the Cleveland National Forest — which led them to attend a Llamathan training event in Colorado hosted by the country's leading pack llama organizations, where they built both skills and an industry network.

All llamas for sale are born and raised on the property and registered with the International Lama Registry (ILR). The farm's location directly adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest provides access to varied, technical trail networks for comprehensive conditioning. The program places a strong emphasis on working ability alongside conformation, and select animals have earned show recognition — including a Grand Champion halter award at an ALSA Western Regional competition. Memberships include the Llama Association of Southern California, the North American Ccara Association, and the Alpaca Llama Show Association, among others.
