Birch Hollow

Birch Hollow raises great Pyrenees in Monmouth, ME, serving Kennebec County and central Maine near Portland. Founded by Marissa Flewelling, it has bred these gentle guardians for several years, adhering to recommended health screening for hip, elbow, and eye conditions. Puppies are raised in a family atmosphere on a wooded farm, where daily handling and supervised interactions help them develop confidence and social skills around children and other animals.

Adults live with the family in a climate-controlled kennel attached to the farmhouse, gaining regular exercise on pastureland and in shaded paddocks. Many of its dogs have gone on to roles as therapy animals or loyal companions in farm and household settings. Feedback from local families often highlights Birch Hollow’s thoughtful communication and attention to each puppy’s temperament before joining its new home. It participates in regional club events and mentors new owners on best practices for feeding, grooming, and training.
