Big Holler Pups

Big Holler Pups, run by Tina Osborn out of Cabool, Missouri, has been raising Boston terriers and dachshunds in the heart of the Ozark Highlands since around 2003. The kennel sits in south-central Missouri, roughly an hour southeast of Springfield, and focuses on AKC-registered dogs across its Boston terrier, dachshund, and standard poodle lines.

Health testing is a central part of the program. Boston terriers are JHC tested, dachshunds have been started on PRA testing, and all adults over one year are OFA certified on hearts and patellas. CERF eye evaluations are conducted on many adults, and OFA hip and Legg-Calvé-Perthes screening was added in line with AKC recommendations. Every dog is seen by a veterinarian at least once a year, with new breeding stock brucellosis tested and quarantined before joining the kennel.

Adults and puppies are handled regularly by multiple generations of family, and dogs are given daily time outside of their kennels to socialize and move freely. Puppies go home microchipped, vaccinated, and having received routine deworming. The kennel is licensed and inspected by both the Missouri Department of Agriculture and the USDA, and holds AKC Bred with Heart certification.
