Biehl Ranch

Biehl Ranch breeds Dorper sheep in Mullin, TX, Mills County and the Concho Valley near San Angelo. Chris Biehl has been raising Dorper sheep for over a decade and maintains registration with national breeding associations and the Dorper Sheep Society of North America. All breeding stock undergoes annual health testing for scrapie and footrot, is monitored by a local veterinarian, and receives tailored mineral supplementation.

The flock grazes rotated pastures beneath live oak canopies and finds shelter in open barns, supporting soil health and diverse forages. Lambs stay with their mothers until around ten weeks, transitioning to balanced feeds after regular weight checks that track growth. Selected rams have earned top conformation awards at regional livestock shows, reflecting careful selection for structural soundness and vigor. The ranch’s rolling hills and shaded paddocks offer a calm environment noted by visitors for the sheep’s gentle dispositions and steady growth.
