Bellwether Farm

Bellwether Farm, Barbados blackbelly sheep, Hillsborough, NJ, Somerset County and central New Jersey near Newark. They are a family-run farm led by Guy Buzzoni and Bridget C Buzzoni with two generations of livestock experience.

They have cared for Barbados blackbelly sheep for more than ten years and hold membership in the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Breeders Association. Routine veterinary care is paired with genetic screening for common ovine health issues, and they maintain regular hoof trimming and targeted parasite management. They maintain a small flock size to ensure individual attention and high welfare standards.

Lambs are socialized daily and graze on rotational pastures managed for soil health and balanced nutrition. Their sustainable approach emphasizes gentle handling and a low-stress environment, which customers often note results in calm temperaments in the flock. A recent review praised their transparent communication and the overall health of the sheep at delivery.
