Bayou Farm

Bayou Farm, Pineywoods cattle, Ville Platte, LA, in the Acadiana region near Lafayette, is dedicated to responsible breeding.

Its founders have more than fifteen years of experience in heritage cattle stewardship and maintain voluntary herd health testing through established programs at local veterinary partners. Calves are raised on pasture with rotational grazing and daily hands-on interaction to foster calm temperaments from an early age. They are members of the Pineywoods Breeders Association and follow recommended guidelines for vaccination and parasite control.

Bayou Farm follows a small-scale approach that prioritizes genetic diversity and resilience, reflecting practices used by early Louisiana settlers. Their animals contribute to grassland conservation efforts and have been recognized by the Pineywoods Breeders Association for consistency of breed traits.
