Avalon Welsh Springer Spaniels

Avalon Welsh Springer Spaniels has been breeding welsh springer spaniels in Falls Church, Virginia for over 30 years, with founder Jeanette (Jean) Lowry building a program grounded in champion bloodlines and a deep commitment to the breed. Falls Church sits just outside Washington, D.C. in Northern Virginia, making Avalon one of the region's most established sources for welsh springer spaniel puppies in Virginia.

Jean earned the AKC Breeder of Merit designation and bred the 2015 Westminster Kennel Club Best of Breed winner, GCHS Avalon's All Hallows Eve Perseus. Each pairing is chosen with structural soundness, health and longevity, and temperament in mind. The program is distinctly home-based — no dogs are kenneled, and every welsh springer is raised and lived with as a full member of the family.

The next generation is now part of Avalon as well. Rachel Knotts, Jean's granddaughter, grew up among the dogs and bred her first litter alongside Jean in 2022, continuing a program that has spanned more than three decades of thoughtful, family-centered breeding.
