Appleridge German Shepherds

Appleridge German Shepherds has been raising German shepherd dogs in Ocala, Florida since the 1980s, making it one of the longer-running programs for German shepherd dog breeders in Florida. Owner Annette built the program from the ground up over more than four decades, and the kennel holds recognition through both the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club, where dogs carrying the Appleridge name have earned CKC titles across multiple generations.

The program centers on West German lines, favoring the flat-backed structure associated with that heritage over the more steeply angled build common in some American show lines. Health testing is a consistent part of the breeding approach, with breeding stock evaluated for hips, elbows, and DM (degenerative myelopathy) DNA status. Appleridge participates in the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program, which requires documented health testing, continuing education, and compliance with AKC care and inspection standards.

Dogs from Appleridge span a range of roles, from family companions to obedience, rally, agility, and service work. Titled dogs in the program's lineage include obedience and rally champions in both the US and Canada. Each dog receives individual attention and foundational training before placement, and the kennel is located in the Ocala area, roughly an hour north of Tampa in north-central Florida.
