Alpaca Rainbow Ranch

Alpaca Rainbow Ranch raises alpacas in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a focus on quality fiber and appaloosa coloring. Run by Debra Sonksen, the ranch started with three alpacas in 2012 and has since grown to a herd of more than 40 animals.

The program is built around a specialty that sets it apart among alpaca breeders in Colorado: appaloosa patterning. The ranch's four-time champion herdsire, Apache Gentleman's Alchesay, has produced offspring noted for both fine fiber and striking color, with cria on the ground across Colorado, Montana, and New Mexico. A second appaloosa herdsire, known on the ranch as Harley Quinn, has also begun contributing to the herd's color program.
