A W Thorne Land & Cattle, Inc. raises Maine-Anjou cattle along with Simmental and Braunvieh on a multigenerational ranch near Adair, in the Green Country region of northeast Oklahoma, about an hour from Tulsa. Albert and Joan Thorne, both raised in cattle ranching families, have operated the property since the 1960s when the Thorne family first purchased a 1,500-acre ranch in Mayes County.

The program has deep roots in both the show ring and the breeding pen. Over the years the ranch exhibited cattle at major shows in Tulsa, Denver, Kansas City, Louisville, and Houston, earning honors including Show Breeder of the Year and Show Bull of the Year under the TLC herd code. More than two decades of embryo transfer and artificial insemination work shaped the genetics the operation relies on today.

The current herd runs around 200 cows with both spring and fall calving seasons, producing a consistent set of registered cattle throughout the year. The ranch's focus centers on udder quality, maternal ability, fertility, and disposition.
