About Chelsey Adams

My name is Chelsey. I was born and raised in Morganton and I grew up on our family farm where we have raised chickens, pigs, horses, goats, and beef cattle. In 2018 I moved to England due to my husband David, being an active-duty member in the United States Air Force. It was here that I met the Highland cow breed and absolutely fell in love with their docile temperament and wooly appearance. When we moved back to North Carolina in 2020, the COVID pandemic was upon us and working as an emergency department registered nurse there was no room or time to start my highland adventure. Working on the front lines during the pandemic was when I decided that I wanted to make a difference in my little rural community so I went back to school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2022 upon completion of my Nurse Practitioner program I began researching highlands, highparks, and highland crosses and learned about miniature and micro cattle. This is when I quickly became involved and addicted to highlands, I couldn't get enough of them. In 2024 I surprised my daughters with 2 little miniature highland cows aka Remy, Rose, and a miniature highpark named Theo, who would soon initiate the breeding program at Bare Peak Farm for raising and breeding miniature highland cattle.
