Mixed Breed
A mixed breed white cockatoo is usually a rescue, pet, or aviary bird recorded under Cacatua alba while its exact ancestry is uncertain or partly hybrid. Domestic breeds are not standardized in white cockatoos the way they are in dogs or pigeons, so the phrase is informal. A mixed bird may still show the umbrella crest and mostly white plumage of the species, but size, crest shape, voice, and eye color can be less reliable clues.
Day-to-day care should be based on behavior and species needs rather than the mixed label. White cockatoos are loud, powder-down parrots with strong beaks and high social demands, so placement requires durable housing, safe chewing materials, experienced handling, and an avian veterinarian. Mixed or uncertain birds are best kept out of conservation breeding programs unless identity and parentage can be clarified through records and knowledgeable assessment.
