Unknown Morph
An unknown morph Tokay gecko is a Tokay gecko whose morph identity or genetic background has not been documented. It may be a normal wild-type-looking animal, a captive-bred gecko from uncertain parents, or a gecko with markings that do not fit a confidently named line. The label protects accuracy by leaving room for uncertainty instead of turning every unusual spot or shade into a morph claim.
An unknown-morph Tokay still needs the care of a demanding arboreal gecko, not treatment as a display label. Secure latches are important because Tokays are strong and quick, and the enclosure needs vertical cork or bark, cover, suitable insect prey, and handling that respects a firm bite. If breeding is considered, pairings and offspring descriptions have to stay transparent so records do not become more certain than the parents.
