Mixed Variety
A mixed variety tiger barb is an ornamental-aquaculture tiger barb whose color strain or variety background is blended or not separated into one named form. Tiger barbs are active schooling fish with dark vertical bars, and farmed aquarium lines include green, gold, albino, platinum, and other selected appearances. Mixed variety is best read as a stock-description term rather than a wild population label.
Aquarists should evaluate these fish by health, size, schooling behavior, and compatibility more than by the exact variety name. Tiger barbs are energetic and can nip slow tankmates, so they are usually kept in groups with robust fish and enough swimming room. Breeders and wholesalers benefit from separating lines when color consistency matters, while mixed-variety groups can still be excellent display fish if water quality and stocking choices are sound.
