Sumatran Short-tailed Python
Python curtus
The Sumatran short-tailed python is a heavy-bodied, egg-laying python with a very short tail and dark wild-type coloration. It is distinct from the Borneo short-tailed python and blood python. Provide secure ground-level housing with roomy hides, fresh water and humidity supported by ventilation rather than a constantly wet surface. Its compact body makes obesity easy to overlook, so prey size and feeding intervals should follow condition.
