Scaly-breasted Munia
Lonchura punctulata
The scaly-breasted munia is an Asian finch commonly called the spice finch in aviculture. Adults have a brown head and back with pale underparts edged in dark scale-like markings; juveniles are plainer. Provide group companionship, generous flight space and a varied finch diet with greens, calcium and suitable breeding nutrition. It lays eggs in a covered nest. Keep species and parentage records, since hybrid finches should not be identified from trade names alone.
