Unknown Morph
Unknown morph is a practical label rather than a true variety name for Dendrobates tinctorius, the dyeing poison dart frog often called a tinc. In the hobby, tinctorius frogs are usually kept by locality or established color morph, with names such as citronella, cobalt, powder blue, Patricia, or blue azureus-type lines describing traceable captive groups. An unknown morph may be a frog whose locality records were lost, a mixed-line animal, or a juvenile or rescue whose color does not match a documented strain. It can still be a healthy tinctorius, but the label should not be treated as a new morph name.
Care is the same as for other tinctorius: a secure, humid planted vivarium with leaf litter and clean water. Foods are tiny live prey such as fruit flies, springtails, and other small invertebrates dusted with supplements. Captive frogs lack the wild diet that produces skin toxins, but they should still be handled minimally. The main stewardship issue is breeding. Keep unknown-morph frogs out of locality-pure projects, and sell or rehome any offspring plainly as unknown or mixed so established lines remain traceable.
