Unknown Morph
Unknown morph means the pacman frog has not been identified to a color or pattern line, even though it is being listed as Ceratophrys ornata. It may be a wild-type ornate horned frog, an albino or pastel form with faded markings, or a juvenile whose adult color is not clear. The species is recognized by its round body, massive head, large mouth, and eyelid horns, and the captive trade uses pacman frog for several Ceratophrys types, so morph identification is less important than correct species identification when records are thin.
A purchase decision is better based on health and husbandry suitability than on future color claims. Look for clear eyes, a well-fleshed body, intact skin, and a feeding response without signs of bloating or sores. Housing needs enough clean, moist substrate for burrowing and a shallow water dish, with warmth kept steady rather than hot and dry. If the frog is later bred or sold, listing the morph as unknown is more honest than assigning a fashionable name from appearance alone.
