Georgia Giant

Georgia Giant

The Georgia Giant is a selectively bred variety of the Northern Bobwhite, renowned for its exceptional size and robust characteristics. Originating from the state of Georgia, this breed was specifically developed to cater to hunting enthusiasts and breeding programs, focusing on enhancing growth rate, body mass, and overall vitality. The Georgia Giant stands out due to its larger stature compared to typical Northern Bobwhites, with mature birds often weighing up to 20 percent more than their wild counterparts. This breed retains the distinctive plumage of the Northern Bobwhite, with a beautifully speckled and barred pattern of brown, white, and black, but is particularly noted for its hearty disposition and adaptability to various environmental conditions. Georgia Giants are also celebrated for their strong flight ability and rapid development, often reaching full maturity in just 16 weeks, making them a popular choice in shooting preserves and for restocking efforts. Despite their modifications, these birds maintain the characteristic "bob-white" call, adding to the authentic hunting and wildlife observation experience.
