Tarahumara
Locality
Tarahumara is a small, high-elevation locality form of Boa sigma from the Sierra Tarahumara in northern Mexico, not a separate species. Its dark forward-pointing head arrow and busy brown-and-mocha pattern over a gray or pinkish background are characteristic. Captive Tarahumara boas need secure climbing space, a controlled temperature gradient and conservatively sized meals rather than feeding for rapid growth. Keep locality provenance with the animal; other Boa sigma localities are not automatically Tarahumara.
