White
White Indian peafowl are a solid-white color variety of Pavo cristatus, often called white peacocks when referring to males. They are not a separate species, and they should not be assumed to be albino; most have white plumage with normal eye pigment. Mature males grow the same long train as colored Indian peacocks, but the eye spots are visible mainly as texture and shape in the feathers rather than blue, green, and bronze pattern.
White peafowl are managed like other Indian peafowl, with large dry pens or safe ranging areas, tall roosts, and strong predator control. Their pale plumage can show dirt and feather wear quickly, so mud management and clean roosting areas matter for display birds. Breeding white birds requires attention to recessive color inheritance and to pied or split-to-white backgrounds, since outwardly colored birds may still produce white chicks when paired appropriately.
