Green Pricklenape
Acanthosaura capra
The green pricklenape is an egg-laying forest agamid from Southeast Asia. A tall crest of pointed nape scales, a lower crest along the back, a long tail and green to brown coloration distinguish it from casque-headed forest dragons. Specialist keepers provide sturdy branches, sheltered foliage and drinking opportunities, with controlled humidity, airflow and a suitable light and temperature gradient.
It takes invertebrate prey. Color varies, so scientific identification is more reliable than assuming every green or brown Acanthosaura is this species.
