Unknown Breed
An unknown-breed galah is a galah, Eolophus roseicapilla, whose lineage or mutation category has not been identified. Galahs are pink-and-grey cockatoos native to Australia and are common in aviculture in normal coloration as well as cinnamon, lutino, silver and other captive color forms. Because parrots do not have standardized breeds in the way many domestic mammals do, unknown breed usually means missing background information rather than a separate type of bird.
Anyone adopting or buying an unknown-line galah should focus on practical details: age estimate, sex if known, medical history, diet, handling experience and past housing. These cockatoos are long-lived and can be noisy, dusty and destructive when bored, so a realistic home or sanctuary plan is essential. Breeders should avoid guessing mutation names or presenting an undocumented bird as pure breeding stock. DNA sexing, veterinary screening and clear disclosure are more useful than trying to force an uncertain bird into a named category.
