Mixed Breed
In Fischer's lovebirds, mixed breed is best read as an informal captive label rather than a formal breed. Agapornis fischeri is a small eye-ring lovebird from East Africa, normally green with an orange-red face, yellow collar, pale beak, white eye ring, and blue rump. Pet and aviary birds may combine color-mutation ancestry such as blue, lutino, pied, sea-green, violet or yellow, so a mixed bird may not fit a named variety even when it is clearly Fischer's in type.
Care is the same as for other Fischer's lovebirds: an active, social parrot that needs a roomy cage or aviary, safe wood to chew, daily interaction, and a varied diet built around quality pellets or seed mixes with greens and vegetables. For breeding, mixed ancestry matters because hidden splits and possible eye-ring lovebird hybrid background can make offspring unpredictable; keep notes on parentage and avoid placing uncertain birds into pure species or conservation-minded lines.
