Mixed Morph

Mixed morph fire-bellied toads are captive Bombina orientalis whose color or belly pattern appears to combine named hobby lines such as high red, orange-bellied, yellow-bellied, or reduced-pattern animals. The term is not a species name and does not prove anything about wild locality. Eastern fire-bellied toads are small semi-aquatic amphibians from northeastern Asia, with a green to brown warty back and a bright orange, red, or yellow belly marbled in black as warning coloration.

These toads can make attractive display animals, but mixed morphs are not the best choice for breeders trying to preserve clean, predictable lines. Keepers usually house them in a cool paludarium with both shallow dechlorinated water and easy land access, feeding small live insects dusted as needed. Handling is kept minimal because their skin is sensitive and can secrete mild toxins. Unwanted animals should be rehomed through amphibian keepers or rescues, never released outdoors.

Colors: High Red, Normal/Wild Type, Orange-Bellied, Reduced Pattern, Yellow-Bellied
