Common House Gecko
Hemidactylus frenatus
The common house gecko is a small, nocturnal, egg-laying gecko native to southern and Southeast Asia and introduced widely through tropical regions. Translucent gray-brown skin, a tapering tail and expanded adhesive toe pads suit life on trunks and buildings. Small-gecko keepers use carefully sealed enclosures with vertical surfaces, shelters, suitable warmth and small insect prey.
Its eggs are often placed in protected crevices. It is Hemidactylus frenatus, distinct from the strongly banded forest species and other geckos sold as house geckos.
