Mixed Morph
Mixed morph carpet python is a trade label for Morelia spilota showing two or more selected color or pattern mutations, or a combination that is not being sold under a single standardized morph name. In carpet pythons this can include animals with albino, caramel, axanthic, granite, hypo, ghost, calico, or jaguar influence, sometimes layered over coastal, jungle, Darwin, or other carpet python ancestry. The appearance may range from reduced dark pigment and bright yellows to washed, speckled, or irregularly banded patterns, depending on the genes involved and the line behind the animal.
Care is the same as for other carpet pythons: a secure, well-ventilated enclosure with climbing structure, a reliable heat gradient, appropriate humidity, and thawed rodents sized to the snake. For breeding, the practical issue is documentation. Mixed-morph animals should be sold with clear notes on known genes, possible hets, locality background, and any jaguar lineage, since jaguar lines can be associated with neurologic wobble. Buyers should value honest records over a dramatic label.
