Fantine was the first mini donkey we welcomed to our farm, and she's been a steady companion and friend to us and her fellow donkeys. She is incredibly gentle and friendly with our kids and all other visitors.
She came already bred back and with a weanling foal, and she has been an amazing mom to all three of these little ones, including her latest Eponine.
We think she is a semi-wooly due to the way her mane falls over to the side and the longer coat she keeps for much of the year. She lives on pasture with our highland cattle.
She has had her teeth floated a couple of times with us as she tends to collect a bit of grass/hay in her cheeks, kind of like a hamster. My equine vet colleagues have not identified anything wrong anatomically or pathologically.
Her hooves grow a little bit more quickly than most of the rest of our donkeys, and they weren't in great shape when we first received her. Thanks to the care attention from our expert donkey farrier, they are back to normal now.
