Wisteria Hedgehogs

Wisteria Hedgehogs, African pygmy hedgehogs in Florida and the Gulf Coast near Tampa, is managed by Hex Heitala. They have been breeding for more than five years and follow recommendations of the International Hedgehog Association on health testing.

Each hog lives in a spacious enclosure inside a climate-controlled room with daily handling to encourage a gentle temperament. Daily enrichment includes supervised playtime, foraging exercises and soft bedding to support natural behaviors. They keep breeding stock in rotated pairs to foster compatible relationships and closely monitor new litters.
