Wings And A Prayer Alpacas

Wings and A Prayer Alpacas has been raising alpacas in Amity, Oregon since 1998, making it one of the longer-running alpaca farms in the Willamette Valley, about 20 miles southwest of McMinnville. Randy and Barbara Coleman started with a single female and built the herd to nearly 200 animals before settling into a core group of around 70 alpacas spanning nearly every color, age, and sex.

The farm focuses primarily on suri alpacas, with a strong emphasis on herdsire quality and fleece traits including luster, fineness, and density. The program's herdsire WAP NorthStar by Commandor earned Herdsire of the Year in Light Suri in 2023 and Reserve Herdsire of the Year honors in both 2024 and 2025, with co-ownership through Heart and Soul Alpacas. The Colemans are members of the Suri Network, TxOLAN, and the Columbia Alpaca Breeders Association.

Both Randy and Barbara have operated Wings and A Prayer full time since 2003, and the farm offers a range of support services for buyers including new breeder consulting, agisting, show services, transport, and lifetime customer support on purchased animals. Breeding services come with a suri cria guarantee, and ranch-born animals are sold with full disclosure of records. The farm also raises Great Pyrenees as livestock guardians.
