Windward Portuguese Water Dogs has been breeding Portuguese water dogs in Akron, Ohio since 1987, when Christie Kello's mother, Robin, founded the program. The kennel has roots in northeast Ohio, roughly 40 miles south of Cleveland, and spans three generations of the same family.
Over more than three decades, dogs carrying the Windward name have earned multiple Best in Show, High in Trial, and multi-title honors. Breeding stock is AKC-registered, and complete health testing is performed on all parents, with records and pedigree copies provided to every puppy family.
