Winds of Wea
Winds of Wea raises LaMancha dairy goats in Lafayette, Indiana, a short drive from the Greater Lafayette area along the banks of the Wabash River. The herd name carries a personal history rooted in the land itself — the property sits on what was historically known as Wea Plains, territory once inhabited by the Wea people, and the area's consistently strong winds inspired the name adopted in 2012.
The operation grew out of a family story that began with a dietary need: Jordan Laffoon's mother, Lisa Sieber, purchased her first goats because goat's milk was the only milk a young Jordan could tolerate. Those original animals led to showing, and eventually to a dedicated dairy goat program. Jordan and Nikki Laffoon carry that tradition forward today.
Alongside LaMancha goats for sale in Indiana, Winds of Wea also maintains Oberhasli, a breed the program added in 2018. The herd has been shown at state-level competition, with animals earning recognition in the show ring. The combination of a multigenerational family background and a herd name drawn directly from the local landscape gives this Lafayette operation a story that runs deeper than most.
