Willow Wind Farm
Willow Wind Farm raises huacaya alpacas in Westcliffe, Colorado, situated on 85 acres along the Wet Mountain Valley at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, about 50 miles southwest of Pueblo. Owner Annie Hunt established the farm in 2012, initially on a smaller property in northern Colorado, before relocating the operation to its current acreage in 2020 to scale the program.
Annie's focus sharpened around grey genetics, and the program has since built a reputation around selective breeding for superior grey fleece production and conformation. Alongside the grey herd, Willow Wind has developed a dedicated portion of its animals around harlequin, appaloosa, tuxedo grey, and roan expressions in huacayas. Access to strong grey-producing herdsires and a carefully assembled foundation of females has shaped the direction of the breeding stock.
For those looking for alpacas for sale in Colorado with a fiber-forward focus, Willow Wind is a working farm committed to show participation, fleece testing, and ongoing involvement in the broader alpaca community. The farm also runs a complementary flock of colored merino sheep, with an emphasis on grey expression there as well.
