Whitmore Farm LLC, Scottish highland cattle, Sanbornton, NH, is set in the Lakes Region near Laconia. Jeff Whitmore has bred these hardy animals for more than twenty years, maintaining membership in the American Highland Cattle Association and following recommended health testing for Johne’s disease and bovine viral diarrhea.

Each herd grazes on rotational pastures with continuous access to a straw-bedded shelter and fresh water throughout the seasons. Calves begin hands-on socialization with the farm family and learn to navigate varied terrain before reaching maturity. The farm’s lineage features grand champions at state fairs, and recent buyers note the cattle’s calm demeanor and resilience.

Bloodlines trace back to cattle imported directly from Scotland, preserving genetic diversity valued by conservation breeders. Native grasses support winter grazing, and sturdy three-sided shelters offer comfort throughout heavy snow periods. Whitmore Farm operates on sustainable principles, rotating fields to support pasture health and minimize environmental impact.
