White Sulphur Farms
White Sulphur Farms raises Tamworth pigs in Gainesville, Georgia, on a family property that has been continuously farmed since 1802. Lee Hemmer and Mary Hemmer operate the farm, which spans nearly 400 acres of fields and forests in the foothills of northeast Georgia, about an hour northeast of Atlanta.
The farm's roots go back through the Reynolds-Hemmer family for more than two centuries. Lee Hemmer introduced Tamworth hogs to the operation in 2010 after researching heritage pork breeds suited to the farm's land and climate. The Tamworths are raised free-range alongside the farm's belted Galloway cattle, with an all-natural, pasture-forward approach and no grain feeding. The farm farrows twice a year, maintaining a herd of more than 30 Tamworth pigs. White Sulphur Farms is also listed with the Tamworth Swine Association, making it one of the few sources for Tamworth pigs for sale in Georgia.
