Westphal Red Angus

Westphal Red Angus has been raising red angus cattle on the plains of Grass Range, Montana since 1976, making it one of the longer-running red angus programs in the state. Vic and Shari Westphal have built the operation from a modest foundation of purchased cows and heifers into a herd of more than 300 mature mother cows.

The program runs both registered and commercial cattle, offering red angus for sale in Montana's central ranch country, roughly two hours east of Great Falls. Bulls offered through the program are performance and fertility tested, and cattle are PI-BVD tested and parent verified, reflecting a consistent emphasis on herd health and genetic integrity.

Multiple generations of established cow families are a defining feature of the Westphal operation, with more than five decades of continuous selection behind the current cattle.
