Virginia began working with the breed in 1988 after being introduced to the sport of Schutzhund, and the kennel — operating under the "Vom Haus Warden" line — grew from those early training roots into a focused breeding program.

The program centers on upholding the breed standard as originally framed by the breed's founder, prioritizing mental stability, working utility, and correct conformation in equal measure. Dogs in the program carry titles reflecting that working emphasis, including BH and IPO credentials.
