Valhalla Ranch

Valhalla Ranch raises and trains Gypsy vanner horses — also registered under the broader Gypsy cob family — on its property in Kiowa, Colorado, about an hour southeast of Denver on the eastern plains.

Kristen Littrell and her husband Matt, a Marine veteran, founded the ranch with a program that spans breeding, horsemanship training, lessons, and clinics for riders from beginner to advanced levels. The breeding focus centers on foundation-bred cobs selected for correct build, temperament, brain, and trainability, with all mares trained to ride and most trained to drive before joining the broodmare band.

The ranch's horses are put to work well beyond the show pen — used for gathering, doctoring, and branding cattle on the ranch itself — and the program has produced strong show records at regional and national levels under the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society (GVHS). Valhalla carries the registered GVHS prefix "VX" and its stallions have earned GVHS Gold Medallion and 4-Star distinctions. The broodmare band includes mares of varying size and color, from traditional cobs to duns and silver buckskins, with imported UK bloodlines as well as domestic pedigrees going back to foundation SD Farms lines.
