Up N'Adam Kennels has been producing dual champion German shorthaired pointers in Washington Depot, Connecticut since 1974. Katie Tazza, a Cornell University graduate with a degree in Animal Science, draws on that academic foundation to apply principles of genetics and humane animal behavior to the breeding program.

The kennel's focus is on dogs that perform well in both field competition and conformation, breeding for natural ability, trainability, health, and structural soundness. Health testing is a meaningful part of the program: breeding stock is evaluated for OFA hips and elbows, OFA cardiac clearances, CERF eye exams, and testing for lupoid dermatosis through the University of Pennsylvania. Two dogs produced by the kennel have been inducted into the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America Hall of Fame.
