Totana Piper Hill German Shepherds

Totana Piper Hill German Shepherds has been breeding German shepherd dogs in Killingworth, Connecticut since 1957, making it one of the longer-running programs for the breed in New England. Barbara and the program are situated about 25 miles northeast of New Haven, in the Connecticut shoreline region.

The program focuses on breeding for sound character, correct conformation, and trainability, with dogs placed into homes, show rings, and working environments. Litters draw from a carefully maintained blend of American and German bloodlines, including lineage tracing back to American Grand Victors and German Siegers. Dogs in the program have carried OFA hip and elbow certifications, and some breeding stock has been imported directly from Germany.

German shepherd puppies from Totana Piper Hill have gone into family homes, competed in AKC conformation, and demonstrated versatility in obedience and protection work. The program's long history reflects a consistent emphasis on producing dogs that are structurally sound and suited to life alongside people.
