Top Gun Shepherds

Top Gun Shepherds has been breeding German shepherd dogs since 2004, when owner Peggy Stoltzfus began with her family pet and gradually built a program grounded in hands-on experience and a deepening knowledge of pedigree and genetics. The kennel originally operated in the Fairfax Station area of Northern Virginia, southwest of Washington, D.C., and relocated in 2024 to Great Cacapon, West Virginia, where expanded land and a larger kennel facility support the growing program.

A significant milestone came in December 2011, when Peggy imported a titled male from Germany — Faustor Van Noort, a Schutzhund III, Kkl1 lbz dog with lineage tracing back to the well-regarded Tyson Vom Kottersbusch — to serve as an in-house stud. That emphasis on titled, imported European bloodlines with proven temperament has remained a defining characteristic of the shepherds produced here. Top Gun Shepherds is a participant in the AKC Breed with H.E.A.R.T. program, reflecting a commitment to health and responsible breeding standards.
