Sweet Magnolia Farm

Sweet Magnolia Farm raises registered Scottish Highland cattle in Singers Glen, Virginia, situated in the Shenandoah Valley about 15 miles from Harrisonburg. Abigail Weiderhold and her partner started the herd after purchasing their first registered Highland cow and growing the operation with registered stock sourced from a West Virginia producer.

The farm sits on a 15-acre property where the herd grazes on open pasture alongside Idaho pasture pigs, with a livestock guardian dog keeping watch over the animals. Sweet Magnolia Farm is among a small number of Highland cattle breeders in Rockingham County, and it is the only one in the area that opens its herd to direct public interaction. Those looking for Highland cattle for sale in Virginia can connect with a program where the animals are handled regularly and accustomed to people from an early age, a priority that grew naturally out of the farm's hands-on approach to raising its herd.
